Anantnag District, with population of about 10.8 lakh is Jammu & Kashmir's the 3rd most populous district, located in the state Jammu & Kashmir in India. Total geographical area of Anantnag district is 3574 km2 and it is the 5th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 302 persons per km2. There are 6 sub districts in the district, among them Anantnag is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.6 lakh and Shangus is the least populous sub district with population of about 74 thousand.
