Total geographical area of Jagatsinghapur district is 1668 km2 and it is the smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 682 persons per km2. There are 10 sub districts in the district, among them Jagatsinghapur is the most populous sub district with population of about 2.4 lakh and Abhyachandpur is the least populous sub district with population of about 24 thousand.
