Bargarh District, with population of about 14.8 lakh is Odisha's the 13th most populous district, located in the state Odisha in India. Total geographical area of Bargarh district is 5837 km2 and it is the 12th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 254 persons per km2. There are 15 sub districts in the district, among them Bargarh is the most populous sub district with population of about 1.6 lakh and BurdenP.S. is the least populous sub district with population of about 33 thousand.

There is only one city in the district that comes under the district administration which is Bargarh Municipality.
