Haora District, with population of about 48.5 lakh is West Bengal's the 9th most populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Haora district is 1467 km2 and it is the 2nd smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 3306 persons per km2. There are 14 sub districts in the district, among them Domjur is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.8 lakh and Bagnan - II is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.6 lakh.

There are 4 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Haora Municipal Corporation; Bally and Uluberia Municipalities and Uluberia Municipality and Out Growth.

The district is home to about 48.5 lakh people, among them about 25 lakh (52%) are male and about 23.5 lakh (48%) are female. 85% of the whole population are from general caste, 15% are from schedule caste and 0% are schedule tribes.
