Nadia District, with population of about 51.7 lakh is West Bengal's the 7th most populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Nadia district is 3927 km2 and it is the 9th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 1316 persons per km2. There are 17 sub districts in the district, among them Chakdah is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.1 lakh and Nabadwip is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.4 lakh.

There are 8 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Krishnanagar, Santipur, Nabadwip, Kalyani and Chakdaha Municipalities (limited to 5 most populous).
