Barddhaman District Urban Part, with population of about 30.8 lakh is West Bengal's the 3rd most urban populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Barddhaman district urban part is 934 km2 and it is the biggest urban district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 3297 persons per km2. There are 17 sub districts in the district, among them Ondal Urban is the most populous sub district with urban population of about 1.5 lakh and Memari - I Urban is the least populous sub district with urban population of 4420.

There are 12 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Durgapur and Asansol Municipal Corporations; Barddhaman, Kulti, Jamuria, Raniganj and Katwa Municipalities (limited to 5 most populous) and Jamuria Municipality and Out Growth.
