Maldah District, with population of about 39.9 lakh is West Bengal's the 11th least populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Maldah district is 3733 km2 and it is the 8th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 1069 persons per km2. There are 15 sub districts in the district, among them Kaliachak - I is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.9 lakh and Bamangola is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.4 lakh.
