Jalpaiguri District, with population of about 38.7 lakh is West Bengal's the 9th least populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Jalpaiguri district is 6227 km2 and it is the 6th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 622 persons per km2. There are 7 sub districts in the district, among them Dhupguri is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.1 lakh and Matiali is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.2 lakh.
