Banka District, with population of about 20.3 lakh is Bihar's the 14th least populous district, located in the state Bihar in India. Total geographical area of Banka district is 3020 km2 and it is the 13th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 674 persons per km2. There are 11 sub districts in the district, among them Dhuraiya is the most populous sub district with population of about 2.4 lakh and Phulidumar is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.3 lakh.

Demographics

The district is home to about 20.3 lakh people, among them about 10.7 lakh (52%) are male and about 9.7 lakh (48%) are female. 83% of the whole population are from general caste, 12% are from schedule caste and 4% are schedule tribes. Child (aged under 6 years) population of Banka district is 18%, among them 51% are boys and 49% are girls.
