Siwan District, with population of about 33.3 lakh is Bihar's the 12th most populous district, located in the state Bihar in India. Total geographical area of Siwan district is 2219 km2 and it is the 15th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 1501 persons per km2. There are 19 sub districts in the district, among them Siwan is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.4 lakh and Nautan is the least populous sub district with population of about 91 thousand.

Demographics

The district is home to about 33.3 lakh people, among them about 16.8 lakh (50%) are male and about 16.6 lakh (50%) are female. 86% of the whole population are from general caste, 12% are from schedule caste and 3% are schedule tribes. Child (aged under 6 years) population of Siwan district is 17%, among them 52% are boys and 48% are girls.
