Saharsa District, with population of about 19 lakh is Bihar's the 12th least populous district, located in the state Bihar in India. Total geographical area of Saharsa district is 1687 km2 and it is the 8th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 1127 persons per km2. There are 10 sub districts in the district, among them Kahara is the most populous sub district with population of about 3 lakh and Banma Itahri is the least populous sub district with population of about 91 thousand.
