Madhepura District, with population of about 20 lakh is Bihar's the 13th least populous district, located in the state Bihar in India. Total geographical area of Madhepura district is 1788 km2 and it is the 10th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 1120 persons per km2. There are 13 sub districts in the district, among them Madhepura is the most populous sub district with population of about 2.5 lakh and Gamharia is the least populous sub district with population of about 83 thousand.
