Sitamarhi District, with population of about 34.2 lakh is Bihar's the 11th most populous district, located in the state Bihar in India. Total geographical area of Sitamarhi district is 2294 km2 and it is the 17th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 1492 persons per km2. There are 17 sub districts in the district, among them Dumra is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.4 lakh and Charaut is the least populous sub district with population of about 79 thousand.
