Total geographical area of Jhalawar district is 6219 km2 and it is the 14th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 227 persons per km2. There are 7 sub districts in the district, among them Jhalrapatan is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.6 lakh and Manohar Thana is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.4 lakh.
