Kota District, with population of about 19.5 lakh is Rajasthan's the 16th most populous district, located in the state Rajasthan in India. Total geographical area of Kota district is 5217 km2 and it is the 10th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 374 persons per km2. There are 5 sub districts in the district, among them Ladpura is the most populous sub district with population of about 11.4 lakh and Digod is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.7 lakh.

There are 4 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Kota Municipal Corporation; Ramganj Mandi, Kaithoon and Sangod Municipalities.

The district is home to about 19.5 lakh people, among them about 10.2 lakh (52%) are male and about 9.3 lakh (48%) are female. 70% of the whole population are from general caste, 21% are from schedule caste and 9% are schedule tribes.
