Tonk District, with population of about 14.2 lakh is Rajasthan's the 11th least populous district, located in the state Rajasthan in India. Total geographical area of Tonk district is 7194 km2 and it is the 16th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 198 persons per km2. There are 7 sub districts in the district, among them Tonk is the most populous sub district with population of about 2.9 lakh and Peeplu is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.2 lakh.

There are 7 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Tonk Municipal Council; Niwai, Malpura, Todaraisingh, Deoli and Uniara Municipalities and Malpura Municipality and Out Growth.

The district is home to about 14.2 lakh people, among them about 7.3 lakh (51%) are male and about 6.9 lakh (49%) are female. 67% of the whole population are from general caste, 20% are from schedule caste and 13% are schedule tribes.
