Basirhat Municipality, with population of about 1.3 lakh is North Twenty Four Parganas district's the 13th least populous municipality located in North Twenty Four Parganas district of the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Basirhat municipality is 22 km2 and it is the 7th biggest city by area in the district. Population density of the city is 5680 persons per km2.
