Durgapur Municipal Corporation, with population of about 5.7 lakh is Barddhaman district's the most populous municipal corporation located in Barddhaman district of the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Durgapur municipal corporation is 154 km2 and it is the biggest city by area in the district. Population density of the city is 3674 persons per km2. There are 43 wards in the city, among them Durgapur Ward No 14 is the most populous ward with population of about 23 thousand and Durgapur Ward No 02 is the least populous ward with population of 5993.
