Raniganj Municipality, with population of about 1.3 lakh is Paschim Barddhaman district's the least populous municipality located in Paschim Barddhaman district of the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Raniganj municipality is 25 km2 and it is the smallest city by area in the district. Population density of the city is 5180 persons per km2. There are 22 wards in the city, among them Raniganj Ward No 01 is the most populous ward with population of about 13 thousand and Raniganj Ward No 17 is the least populous ward with population of 3134.
